Description
Seabiscuit Bakery, Prima Bistro, and Saltwater Fish House & Oyster Bar are a trio of restaurants owned by the Lekker family in downtown Langley, Whidbey Island, WA. They needed sites that were evocative of the same welcoming feel you could get in each restaurant, while still separate from one another.

Seabiscuit is the most in-depth site of the three. Online ordering, with customization options and scheduled pickups, were the top priority. The bakery did not have a regular storefront (one is in progress now), so online orders were the primary way they did business.

Site visitors are able to explore a menu of what the bakery offers, make their selections (including any customizations on frosting, cake writing, or other flavors), and choose a day for pickup. The order pickup tool automatically adjusted to, at earliest, allowing customers to choose a slot two days away from when they placed the order, to allow the kitchen time to see the order and plan around other existing orders. Certain days, such as holidays or staff vacations, could be scheduled off in advance to not allow new orders. The tool also allows for delivery option and specific time slots, though this wasn't needed by Seabiscuit. Additionally, the staff are able to use the e-commerce system to create custom orders as the need arises.

The site receives regular maintenance and updates, both for security and to make sure information is helpful to both the staff and the customers.
